In collaboration with OMÜ Faculty of Tourism, our school organized the “Our Career Path is Tourism” panel as part of Tourism Week activities. The panel, which brought together prominent names from the tourism sector with students, was held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 13:00 in the Faculty Conference Hall. The event attracted great interest from future tourism professionals.
The panel, moderated by Associate Professor Dr. Ayşe Atar Yılmaz, featured the following speakers: Research Assistant Yağmur Türker, businessman Mehmet Yılmaz, Gamze Karani, Human Resources Manager at Sheraton Grand Samsun Hotel, and Emrah Göksüzoğlu, Co-Founder of Hepsiturda Travel Agency.
During the session, the panelists shared their entrepreneurship experiences and current opportunities in the sector. The competencies required for success in tourism and the challenges faced were discussed in detail. The program, which brought together academia and the business world and proceeded interactively with students’ questions, concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the participants.
