An awareness seminar titled “Organ Donation” was held in our Conference Hall for our students in the Faculty of Tourism on March 11, 2025, at 13:00 (1:00 PM). The seminar was organized by the Samsun Provincial Health Directorate, under the Samsun Governorship, with the aim of informing our University students about organ donation and contributing to public awareness. It was delivered by Ms. Seher KARAGÖL YILDIZ, Organ and Tissue Transplant Coordinator at Bafra State Hospital.
In the seminar, which garnered great interest from our academic staff and students, she emphasized the importance of organ donation by discussing the daily increase in the number of patients awaiting organs, alongside topics such as who can be a donor, the distinction between living and deceased donors, and which organs can be taken from living and deceased donors.
